SOAP STAR MEETS OULDERHILL JUDO CLUB'S STARS!
On Tuesday 15th February it was Oulderhill Judo Club’s first grading of the year. All the clubs members were tested on their skills they had learnt so far. It was a big event as over 20 members were being graded, they were all nervous but Simon Jackson MBE, the club's senior coach was confident they would all do great!
To make the members even more nervous a familiar face arrived at the door, it was Jack P Shepherd who plays David Platt in Coronation Street. He was there to see what the club was all about and was kind enough to give out all the member’s certificates and belts at the end of the grading. Thanks to one of the members parents, Kieran who is part of the film crew at corrie, is very good friends with Jack and asked him to come along.
The grading went brilliant, all members past their grading, doing some excellent techniques and 3 of the members went from red belt to yellow belt, Jodie, Spencer and Liberty, which is a great achievement.
WELL DONE TO ALL
The grading included 3 of the club’s senior players achieving their first belt. Chris, Darren and Gary have been doing Judo for 8 months and they all now wear a yellow belt. Jack P Shepherd - David Platt
Simon is extremely proud of his club members; he would like to give them all a BIG well done for getting stuck in at each session, listening to him coach and above all having fun.
Jack seems suitably impressed and Oulderhill Judo Club would like to give Jack a huge thank you for coming and giving up his free time to support the club’s achievements.
We hope to see him again soon, along with his friends from Corrie…
If you would like to be apart of Oulderhill Judo Club, the juniors and seniors train on Tuesday evenings 6.30-7.30pm and 7.30-8.30pm at Oulderhill Community High School.
